Well time flies by when you are enjoying yourself doesn't it? It doesn't seem nearly 50 years since I was playing piano at assemblies at St. Anne's School, Heaton Chapel. I was a pupil of Piano Teacher Jessie Davies of Heaton Norris, Stockport as a kid. At age 14 I started work for my dear Aunt Joan Bates, playing for her Dancing School and all it's activities around Reddish, Heaton Moor, Heaton Chapel, Levenshulme etc. Also her simply gorgeous Kids Ballets in the long gone Kings Hall, Belle Vue, Manchester. I then stumbled through a series of small Function Bands - eventually teaming up with Altrincham Guitarist Alan Yates. We formed "The Alan Anthony Set" which was a highly successful band working through the Alan Arnison Agency. This band was gathered together as far as possible in 2009 for a few reunion tea dances in Albert Halls, Bolton. I also worked more Manchester Working Men's Clubs on electronic Organ than I can remember. Many great nights with some wonderful drummers and Artistes. I did a spell for Pontins Holidays as a Resident Pianist at Prestatyn too (in it's glory days!). Then I switched over to Kids Entertainment with my wife Susan, and we still do this to the present day. In 2005 I set about the mountainous task of trying to regain my Piano skills. I have subsequently composed and recorded music used on US Cable Networks, lots of Music Shop demos., - had Albums on i-Tunes and Amazon etc. I now enjoy Music as a second line of business to Kids Parties. Have lived in Wilmslow since 1985 - but always a Heaton Norris Lad at heart! My dear parents, Alice and Bill Gay, gave me a wonderful childhood from our home on Lloyd Street, and also gave me the opportunity of music lessons.
